Bill Martin is professor of philosophy at DePaul University in Chicago, where he has taught since 1990. He works in twentieth-century continental and analytic philosophy, Marxism, and Buddhist philosophy. He is the author of nine books, most recently Ethical Marxism: The Categorical Imperative of Liberation. At present he is working on a synthesis of Buddhism, Maoism, and French Marxism, especially the work of Alain Badiou. Bill is also a musician; his most recent album is Emptiness, Garden: String Quartets nos. 1 and 2.
